PLEASE. I’m asking nicely. Please remove/recall these plastic blue stick cotton buds from ALL stores! I KNOW there are alternatives. Even my little online store sells ear buds made from bamboo and wood and they are NOT expensive. So I know cost canNOT be an excuse!
And to the Retail Stores (Pick n Pay, Clicks, Checkers, Dis-Chem Pharmacies, My SPAR and other, simply don’t stock them any more!)
I’m not asking for me. I’m not asking to be a nuisance or to be petty. I’m asking for our planet. For our ocean. I’ve been picking up these plastic blue sticks for so many years now*. And it just never stops. I can honestly vouch that at EVERY single cleanup I have ever done, I have picked up at the very least 5. At the most? Easily 200!
In fact, on Earth Day this year, on Milnerton beach we picked up 401!
Please. We need to BE the change we want to see. We need you to stop making these available. At the source. I beg of you.
